The company is mainly focused on providing special holiday vacation packages in a tropical setting. With its launching of its first ever city hotel in 2010 dubbed as the RIU PLAZA, it is widening its market reach and presence in addition to its more than a hundred hotels spread out in 19 countries around the world today to earn a 27th ranking among the top hotels and resorts of the world. One among these is the Riu Tequila Playa del Carmen located in Mexico.
The Junior suite rooms are provided with a bathtub, satellite TV, and a living room. Because of its all-inclusive packages, all the meals and refreshments are part of the package deal. There is buffet dining at the Jalisco Restaurant, with a themed buffet two times a week, and an Asian and Mexican dining via reservation only. It is called by other names, such as the Riu Clubhotel Tequila Hotel, Riu Tequila Mexico, or just plain Riu Tequila. The resort has a total of 664 guest rooms with complete amenities of air conditioning, electronic safes, mini bars, telephone, and liquor dispensers. Drinks are available for 24 hours a day to quench the thirst of guests who decide to enjoy themselves in the seaside activities of snorkeling and scuba diving (first lesson is free), beach volleyball, golf, and even tennis. There is also a daytime entertainment for both kids and adults with a kids' playground and club, and a Jacuzzi to give busy bodies additional fun activities to while the day away in the most enjoyable way possible, and a nightly adult-themed entertainment to wind down.
Many tourist and vacationers come to the Riu Tequila Playa del Carmen for its pristine white sandy beaches.
